Featured in this lot is this Navajo Transitional Red Mesa 2nd Phase Chief's Blanket circa 1910. The blanket features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that shows a Red Mesa design with bands of off white and black with a 2nd Phase Chief's blanket design to the dazzler 'X's' and shows the top and bottom of the blanket with this design. This blanket is beautifully done and tightly woven. The condition of this of this Navajo Chief's Blanket shows no a/b sides. One area where warp is visible near one end, but is as woven, not thinning. Two pea-sized light stains visible, isolated to one side. Overall excellent. The measurements of this Chief's blanket 6 foot 4 inches by 5 foot 6 inches.
