Featured in this lot is this Northern Cheyenne parfleche dagger and sheath, circa 1890. The sheath is constructed of Indian tanned hide with short cut fringe and shows a total of 13 jingle cone decoration and glass trade seed beads in colors of greasy yellow, medium yellow, greasy orange, translucent orange, chalk white, dark red, translucent medium green, and dark blue. The dagger shows a wonderfully crafted double blade construction with a pewter inlaid soft wood handle and a brass hilt. The condition of this sheath and dagger are good, with patina to the Parfleche and Indian tanned hide, and a slight patina to the jingle bells, showing the age of the sheath. The dagger features good overall condition and patina to the blade. The measurements of this sheath and dagger are 8 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 1".
