Featured in this lot is this fantastic set of genuinely quilled, hard soled and forked tongue hide moccasins from the Northern Cheyenne Native American Indians, circa 1890 - 1900. The set shows a Parfleche rawhide, hard sole base with sinew sewn, Indian tanned mocassins; with all period correct quilled geometric star burst design to the tops of the mocassins and shows bifurcated tongue. The hard soles are sinew and trade wool sewn to the mocassins themselves; and show a wonderful example of Native Cheyenne artistry. The condition of this mocassins is good with wear and patina consistent with the age of the pair of mocassins and in good overall condition. The measurements of this pair of 3 1/2" x 4" x 11 1/4" for the right foot and 3 3/4" x 4" x 10 1/2".
