Featured in this lot is this Northern Plains Indians quilled mocassins circa 1960's. The mocassins feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted sinew sewn hide and quilled toe construction that mocassins appears to be sewn together by sinew with laces of hide with brass cleats towards to the top of the mocassins. The edges of the hide are lined with cloth that secures the eyelets and the cleats in place. The soles are soft and not hardened and is constructed from two levels of the mocassins including a ankle portion. The quilled toe area is fairly faded but shows the original pattern the quilled area decorated. The condition of this pair of mocassins is preserved with some wear marks to the outside of the hide and the quill work is degraded from use and time but otherwise is in preserved condition. The measurements of these mocassins is 6" x 10 1/2" x 3 1/4". The collective weight of this pair of moccasins is 14oz.
