Featured in this lot is this Special Police Secret Service badge from the State of Nebraska that belonged to "Raiding Bob" Robert Samardick, Badge #183. The badge shows brass shield with black lettering set to pre-determined plates and scrolls, reading from top to bottom: “183-Special Police - Secret Service - Samardick - State of Nebraska”. The man chiefly responsible for the deluge on the courts during the prohibition was Robert Samardick. After service in counterintelligence during the war, he served briefly in the Omaha Police Department before resigning to become a federal prohibition agent in 1920. The condition of this badge is good, with a slight imprint from something hitting the black name pin centered on the badge. The measurements of this Secret Service Badge are 2 1/2" x 2". Provenance: From the famed ex-collection of Western History, Jim Aplan.
