Featured in this lot is this original Doug Levitt (b. 1964) "Chief's" Charcoal artwork. Doug Levitt is an artist specializing in Alla Prima painting techniques. He is an avid En Plein Air painter (outdoor painting from life) and he loves to paint anything that visually grabs him. His passion for growing as an artist is his driving force. This is what motivates him to paint such a diverse subject base. His main theme has been historical Native/Cowboy themes but he also paints contemporary portraits, landscapes, still life, and anything else that catches his eye. The artwork shows a charcoal design that shows a Native American Chief with a feathered headress and a trade blanket around his traditional garments and the spirit of a buffalo in the distance where the man is looking. The artist signature is shown in the bottom right hand corner. The condition of this charcoal artwork is good with no obvious signs of damage with some slight wear to the outside frame but otherwise is well preserved and in good overall condition. The measurements of this framed artwork is 22 7/8" x 28 7/8" and the visible artwork measures 14" x 20". Provenance: This artwork was featured in March in Montana in 2023 and made bids up to $1500.00.
