Included in this lot is an Original Gerry Wentworth bronze sculpture title "The Voyageurs". Gerry Wentworth was a Great Falls, Montana artist who grew up in the era just after Charles Russell's life. He was largely self taught and spent the majority of his life working in painting, sculpture and wood carving. Wentworth's works have been widely exhibited in such places as the C.M. Russell Show, the Phippen Art Show and the Frank Tenney Johnson Show. In 1981, he won Best of Show at the Northwest Americana Art Show. This piece depicts a trio of mountain men on horse back ascending a step hillside. The bronze shows exceptional detail, is signed "The Voyageurs". It is signed by the artist on the back, reading "© - 1977 - GC WENTWORTH". The sculpture sits on a hardwood base with plaque reiterating the title. Additionally a Lazy Susan has been incorporated into the base. Certificate of Authenticity comes with this artists copy. The sculpture measures 20.5" x 13" x 19".
