The lot features an original signed S. Kelieam (20th Century American) U.S. Cavalry Horse Rider Bronze in a monumental large size. The sculpture shows an impressive size, measuring approximately 40" tall, and 42" from the front legs, to the back of the flowing tail. The sculpture shows great attention to detail with the cavalry soldier being adorned in typical US Military garb, and excellent dimension, and definition on the galloping horse. Lastly, the impressive bronze shows a naturally aged patina, and shows good condition overall. S. Kelieam is a prolific monumental size bronze artist whose work regularly brings tens of thousands of dollars at sale. The same S. Kelieam Cavalry Rider is being offered by a seller in Nampa, Idaho for $12,500 and was valued at $18,000 by a professionally bronze manufacturer. Another example of two confederate Soldier sold at auction for $8,500 in 2014 at Able Auctions and another offered for sale at Time and Again Inc in 2011 for $7,000. This piece was appraised and insured for a value of $19,300.00 and was found to be worth $20,000 to $22,000 by a museum curator in Utah. It was said that casting this bronze would have cost nearly $10,000. The sculpture measures 40" tall, 42" long, and 13 1/2" wide. The piece was purchased by the current owner for $9,800 in 2002.
