Offered in this lot is a 1927 Spaulding outseam Basketball in a display case with a bladder and four pieces of Ephemeral. In this case, with the leather basketball and bladder, are two laminated catalog pages, a laminated print of Norman Rockwells "Oh Yeah" (that shows boys holding this style basketball), and a photograph of the Hoosier Gym. One of the catalog pages is dated July 5, 1927 and shows this basketball selling for $7.00. The second catalog page, dated July 5, 1930, shows this basketball selling for $12.00. The bladder does show a split and the leather on the basketball has some discoloration, but the stitching appears to be sound. The glass case has five sides with the open bottom set into a wooden base. The wooden base measures 23" X 12" X 1 1/4". The glass case measures 12" X 20" X 10". This is a unique piece of sports memorabilia.
