Offered in this lot we have a pair of Acoma Native American Indian polychrome pottery effigy figures of a goose and a turkey dating back to circa 1900- 1920. These early 20th Century pieces show a handmade pottery construction with polychrome mineral pigment painted design in white, brown and red showing a feather and features design or geometric pattern. The figures show a a goose or duck and a turkey each with protruding tails and rounded bodies. The turkey is signed "W. Aragon - Acoma, N. M.". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The goose measures 3 1/8" tall by 2 1/4" wide by 3" deep and the turkey measures 2 1/2" tall by 1 1/2" wide by 3/4" deep.
