Featured in this lot is a farm collection of lithographs by National Artist, Peter Hurd, who was born in 1904 and died in 1984. There are two lithographs in this collection both signed by Peter Hurd. The first is a landscape lithograph of a rainstorm on a farm in the prairie that shows a windmill in the background and a clear sky on one side and cloud cover on the other. The second is of two boys in a makeshift pool swimming with a windmill behind it and a horse behind the fence. Peter Hurd (1904-1984) was an American painter known for his realistic depictions of the American Southwest, particularly New Mexico. He was born Harold Hurd Jr. in Roswell, New Mexico, and became a prominent figure in the regionalist art movement. Hurd's work often captured the landscapes, people, and daily life of the Southwest, reflecting his deep connection to the area. Peter Hurd’s work has been widely exhibited and is held in numerous public and private collections.
