This is a nice early vintage beaded Elk hide large pipe bag from the Plateau region, likley Nez Perce. The piece is comprised of Rocky Mountain Elk Indian tanned hide with glass trade seed beads in a geometric design, beaded on both sides and up each side as well as around the opening. The bottom has thin Elk hide fringes and the hide overall on the bag is in good supple condition. The bag has some small bead loss, but overall displays well. There is a collection tag marked, ELK HIDE PIPE BAG $2,100.00 / MINT 14B7". A nice older 20th Century bag that measures 26"L by 7.75"W.
