This is an original and historically rare photograph of “Allie Earp” Celia Ann Blaylock at around 18-years-old taken around circa 1878, wife of Virgil Earp from the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum where it was on display. The photograph features Allie Earp sitting in a chair with a striped dress on with her left arm on the table in an original frame circa 19th century. Allie Earp, born Celia Ann Blaylock on January 12, 1855, in Monroe Township, Iowa, was the common-law wife of Virgil Earp, one of the famed lawmen of the American Old West. She traveled with Virgil throughout his law enforcement career, including their time in Tombstone, Arizona, during the turbulent events surrounding the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in 1881. Known for her resilience and loyalty, Allie remained by Virgil’s side through his many hardships, including the ambush that left him permanently injured. After Virgil’s death in 1905, Allie lived for several more decades, passing away on November 16, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 92.
