For your consideration is this Antique Wells Fargo Ithaca double barrel side-by-side shotgun chambered in 10 gauge with a serial number of 60852, circa 1900-1901. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. Shotgun has inlay engraved silver on the top rail, "Presented To M J LARSON By Wells Fargo & Co." Founded in 1852 to provide "express" and banking services to California, which was growing rapidly due to the California Gold Rush. By the end of the Gold Rush, Wells Fargo was a dominant express and banking organization in the West, making large shipments of gold and delivering mail and supplies. This 10ga side-by-side shotgun is a presentation retirement shotgun. The Damascus, "twist steel" barrels feature very striking patterns. Scroll engraved receivers marked, "ITHACA HAMMERLESS". Butt is stamped, "ITHACA GUN CO." Walnut stock is well preserved showing rich patina throughout, rich patina adorning the barrel and receiver but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. Barrels are 32"L, The overall length is 48.5", weight is 9lb, 8oz. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
