For your consideration is this limited edition etching of various butterflies titled, "Butterflies I" done by Sandy Scott circa 1970-90s. Sandy Scott is an artist who trained at the Kansas City Art Institute and worked as an animation background artist in the motion picture industry before turning to etching and printmaking in the 1970s. The piece shows seven etched butterflies of various colors, sizes and kinds. They show vivid colors of orange, blue, yellow, red, purple and brown. The bottom of the etching shows the limited edition number "73/100" and the butterflies names to the right reading, "Viceroy, Azure Blue, Monarch, Question Mark, Tiger Swallowtail, American Copper and Mourning Cloak". Stamped to the right of the names is an "SS" standing for Sandy Scott with the etching's signature and a pencil signature from the artist reading, "Sandy Scott". The piece is set in a gold colored frame and is double matted with beige and brown matting paper. The piece shows good condition overall with little to no wear present. The visible art measures 11 5/8" L x 11 3/8" W, while the entire piece measures 19 1/4" L x 18 1/2" W x 1 1/4" D. The artwork weighs 4 pounds and 2 ounces.
