Featured in this lot we have a set of two bayonets from Germany and France. The first of the bayonets is a French M1914 sword bayonet used with the Remington No. 5 Military rifle. The bayonet was constructed by Remington and is made of steel and treated wood. The guard is marked "33919" along with a star on the top of the blade and guard. The second is a German made Mauser bayonet. The bayonet was manufactured in Germany around the time of the Second World War. The piece is marked on the guard reading "1533" and shows signs that it was marked on the pommel though it's too faded to make out. Each of the bayonets are missing their proper scabbards. The bayonets are in good condition overall with some nicks in the German blade. The first piece measures 14 1/2" long overall with a 9 1/2" blade and the second piece measures 14 1/2" long overall with just under a 9 3/4" blade.
