Included in this lot we have a framed original Sheryl Bodily cowboy oil painting. Sheryl Bodily was born in Boise, Idaho in 1936 to a family of five children and was son to a farmer. He recalls moving six separate times as a child for farming work, countless farming chores and having the hobby of collecting arrowheads and artifacts in the Rocky Canyon near Meridian, Idaho. Later he was considered a Montanan being a resident of Columbia Falls, Montana. Bodily has won countless awards and Best of Show with his works being widely collectible. Bodily is a well known Montana artist known for his Western Wildlife and landscapes, as well as, his paintings of Native Americans. This painting depicts a cowboy as he check on three horses tethered to a hitching post outside a cabin at night. The horses are shown with their saddles still on and tied just to the side of the cabin door. The log cabin shows a lit window and set in a wooded forest. The piece shows wonderful art style and use of color. The painting is signed in the bottom left hand corner reading "Bodily". The piece is set into a custom wood frame with a canvas border around the art. The painting shows good condition overall with some very light wear across the frame. The frame measures 22 1/4" wide by 19 1/4" tall with the art measuring 13 1/2" wide by 10 1/2" tall.
