Featured in this lot is a framed original watercolor painting by Norman Kenyon (1901-2001) titled, "Young Lord Byron". Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Norman Kenyon became a noted magazine illustrator whose work included commissions for Cosmopolitan, Redbook, and Colliers. He settled in New York state, living both in Mt. Kisco and New York City. He was a member of the Mystic Art Association and the American Watercolor Society. His work can be found in the collections of the Army Air Corps and the U.S. Maritime Commission. The painting features a young Lord Byron, a British Romantic poet and satirist whose poetry and personality captured the imagination of Europe, leaning against a tree near a lake watching people fish and boat as he holds his pen and paper. He is wearing a top hat, bow tie, and suit jacket and his briefcase and umbrella sit near by. The artwork comes in a gold painted wood frame and is single matted. The painting is signed in the bottom right reading, "Norman Kenyon" and features the title on the left side of the white matting reading, "Young Lord Byron". The art and frame are in good condition with no signs of obvious damage. The frame shows some wear from use. The artwork measures 12" L x 15" W. The entire piece measures 20" L x 23" W.
