The lot features a parfleche envelope with polychrome mineral painted design from the Sioux Native American Indians. The piece is from the Indian Resevation period and is thought to be a tourist trade item. The parfleche rawhide construction shows a folding envelope for dry storage of food or documents and shows a traditional geometric pattern in red, blue green, and yellow. The bag has various older repairs done in sinew and old trade clothe and overall shows a rich patina. The piece is from a large Native American Indian collection in Wyoming. Measures overall 27"x12".
