Featured in this lot is this Southern Plains buffalo hide sheath and knife collection circa 20th century. There are two knives and two sheaths in this collection. The knife sheaths show Tanned and thick buffalo hide construction that shows fringe on both with the first showing red white heart trade beads and brass beads while the second shows a bone concho with brass aglets attached. The first knife is forged with a full tang and a clip point with bone handle; and the second knife is a sharpened bone blade with a wooden handle wrapped in Indian tanned hide with red and blue trade beads attached to the tassels. Provenance: from the Bruce Miller Collection. The condition of this collection of Southern Plains knife sheaths and knives is well preserved with little wear to the sheaths and the steel knife showing slight patina adorning the blade with the bone blade in the other knife is loose. The measurements of these knives in their sheaths is 10 7/8" x 3" and 11 1/2" x 2 1/2".
