This is an excellent, hand woven flat weave rug by master weaver Julia Ruiz. The rug was made using 100% soft, fine, hand spun yarns in a beautiful 3rd Phase Chief's Crown King pattern. The rug was hand woven with a tight weave using 100% hand spun wool yarns that offer natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The rug shows a phenomenal 3rd Phase Chief's Crown King pattern of the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Julia Ruiz. This incredible example shows Julia's traditional interpretation of the 3rd Phase Chief's Crown King blanket—rich banded diamonds symmetrically throughout the rug with diamond decorations on an earth brown field, accentuating blue and dark brown diamonds, and cream arrow dynamics set before the dark brown border of the rug. The rug also shows double braided brown wool tassels. The rug shows a quadruple braided light brown and black wool tassel construction. The piece is brand new, in pristine condition, with a fine, tight weave. The rug measures 5’ by 4’ (5 foot by 4 foot).
