Featured in this lot is this ephemera collection of John McClelland prominent Tombstone businessman circa 19th century; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. John J. McClelland a native of Louisville Kentucky, and an ex-confederate soldier. Came to Tombstone, Arizona in the early 1880's, where he was in business for a number of years. He was influential, drawing men of capital to the Tombstone district. His later years were spent below town, on the Granite Wells ranch. He died there on September 26, 1913, age 73, leaving a widow and nine children. This collection is a highlight of the variety of businesses and investments McClelland was involved in. There are two business cards, two pocket ledger's, liquor tag, Mining Stock Certificate, Museum rendition of John McClelland, and two original envelopes in this collection. The condition of this John McClelland ephemera collection is well preserved with the envelopes showing empty and torn open and the ephemera in general shows some browning consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
