There are five photographs in this framed collection of actresses that performed at The Bird Cage Theater in the 19th century. The photographs show a map with the names of the actresses on the back and includes photographs that include: Fanny Davenport, Corinne, Olive Logan, and Billie Barlow. Fanny Lily Gipsey Davenport (April 10, 1850 – September 26, 1898) was an American stage actress. In the late 19th century, Corinne Kimball, known as "The Queen of the Stage" and "The Spanish Dancer," was a prominent child star who rose to fame in burlesque and other theatrical productions, eventually retiring from the stage. Olive Logan (April 22, 1839 – April 27, 1909) was an American actress and author, daughter of Irish-American actor and playwright Cornelius Ambrosius Logan and Eliza Akeley. Anna Maria Barlow made her stage debut at the Opera Comique on 25 May 1878 in the chorus of H.M.S. Pinafore. It is reported W. S. Gilbert suggested she adopt the stage name Billie, which she used for the first time as Isabel in D’Oyly Carte’s December 31, 1879, New York premiere of The Pirates of Penzance. The condition of this framed actress photographs is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition.
