Featured in this lot is this newspaper page from The Tombstone Epitaph, printed March 17th, 1882, advertising the play, "Stolen Kisses", premiering on the 18th and 19th of March. The interesting story behind this newspaper is that the Earps attended the March 18th showing of the play, the same night Morgan Earp would be shot and killed. On March 18, 1882, Ike Clanton and four henchmen sought retribution for the O.K. Corral Shootout, where Ike Clanton's younger brother Billy, was shot and killed. Morgan Earp was playing pool at Campbell and Hatch's Saloon in Tombstone after the conclusion of the "Stolen Kisses" play,  when Ike Clanton and the other four men shot and murdered him. He was only 30 years old. Morgan's remains was later taken to California and buried at Hermosa Cemetery in Colton. The newspaper also features various gun, alcohol, food and supply advertisements as well as various other news articles. The newspaper shows good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of obvious damage noted. The visible newspaper measures 23 5/8" L x 33 5/8" W, while the entire piece measures 27 1/2" L x 37 1/2" W x 1 1/4" D. It weighs 11 pounds and 2 ounces.
