The F.N. Wolcott General Store in Tombstone, Arizona, was a cornerstone of daily life in the bustling frontier town during the late 19th century. Operated by Franklin N. Wolcott, the store provided essential goods such as food, clothing, tools, and mining supplies to residents, travelers, and miners alike. More than just a place of commerce, it served as a social hub where townspeople gathered, exchanged news, and conducted business. By meeting the practical needs of a rapidly growing population, the F.N. Wolcott General Store played a vital role in supporting the development and stability of Tombstone during its silver boom era. The cash register features a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows brass adornments of decorative patterns with 'National' embossed on the front of the drawer and has a bass tag that reads as follows: S190698H - 332. The 'S' denotes this is a second hand cash register refurbished by the National Cash Register Co. The cash register comes complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: From F.N. Wolcott's Store in Tombstone. The cash register comes complete with original paperwork that reads as follows: This old National Cash register was used by The Tombstone, Arizona Mercantile firm of F.N. Wolcott. It was purchased from them several years ago. It has been serviced and cleaned to work properly. The condition of this cash register is well preserved and in good working order with no obvious signs of damage to the cash register with slight patina adorning it in places but otherwise shows a well preserved condition.
