For your consideration are these two antique wood block planes. The first plane is a smaller molding plane with brass feet and screw. It measures 9 1/2" x 1 3/4" x 6". This plane has about a 1 1/8" blade, as well as a second small spike that appears to be for shaping a channel or groove. The plane has a very nice look with its brass hardware. The second wood block plane looks more simple. The block measures 12 1/4" x 2 1/2" x 2 3/4"; uniquely, it has two 10 1/4" dowel-like handles on either end of the block. In the center of each dowel or handle is cut a rounded groove, 1 1/4" long with a nail in the center. A dovetail joint on the bottom of the each dowel allows the handles to be replaced, if need be. The plane has a 2" blade. Neither plane has maker's marks. Both planes are in good condition.
