Presented in this lot are Three (3) Vintage Oak Leather and Brass Bound Gun Cases, circa 1910 to 1960s. The notable firearms manufacturers located in England and Spain from the 19th century into the early part of the 20th century included mahogany, oak or walnut leather wrapped guncases fitted for specific rifles or shotguns. The divided interiors are lined with green or red baize, a woven, felted fabric that's commonly used as a cover for gaming tables. The first case is double-fitted, divide red baise lined interior in nice condition. Exterior leather exhibits separation along right side end stitching as well as moisture staining. Majority of leather has lovely intact stitching and a rich patina reflecting normal use and wear, leather straps and carrying handle have been replaced, brass end caps, locking mechanism and escutcheon display a rich patina. Measures 10.5"W x 32.5"L x 3.5"D, weight is 12lb, 6oz. Second leather case is for a Spanish rifle or shotgun. Included is an original testing bench certificate, "BANCO DE PRUEBAS DE ARMAS DE FUEGO" indicating EIBAR as the region of manufacturing. The Official Testing Bank of Éibar (BOPE) is the official Spanish body responsible for processing firearms to issue various certificates of their characteristics, inactivation, and "BOPE" certificates of historical weapons classification. It is located in the city of Éibar, in the Basque country, Spain. The divided interior is lined with red baize, in faitr conditon. The leather exterior including the straps and carrying handle is weathered exhibiting scratches and scuffing from age and wear, exhibits dark rich patina throughout.. Brass corner caps, locking mechanism (key included) and escutcheon exhibit rich patina. Measures 9"W x 32.25"L x 3.5"D, weight is 8lb, 2oz. Third leather case features a worn green baize lined divided interior. Exterior leather features scratches and scuffing from use & wear, one leather strap is missing, leather carrying handle is weathered. Locking mechanisms (key not included), escutcheons, D rings and corner caps have muted patina. Measures 9"W x 28"L x 3.75"D, weight is 5lb, 10 oz.
