Featured in this lot we have a Winchester Model 1890 Slide Action rifle, chambered in .22 short. The rifles were produced between 1890, and 1932 with this rifle being produced in 1905. This example utilizes a corn cob style walnut fore grip, and straight style butt-stock, with a steel crescent butt-plate, additionally showing the original short blade/bead front sight, the rear sight has been upgraded to a Lyman folding peep sight. The rifle features a .22 short chambering along with its standard 24" long barrel, walnut stock, and distinctive slide action. The rifle displays all of its correct style markings, including serial number on the lower tang, and on the bottom of the receiver - in front of the trigger assembly, and "Made in U.S.A. Winchester Repeating Arms CO. New Haven, CONN. PAT. June 26. 88. DEC. 6. 92. NOV. 27. 06. MAY 30. 1911. - MODEL 90.-.22 Short." on the left side of the barrel, in front of the rear sight.
