Featured in this lot is this first edition of, "World War Through the Stereoscope: In Two Volumes" by the Keystone View Company circa 1923. This comprehensive collection of World War I pictures, edited and gathered by Joseph Mills Hanson, follows the war in chronological order, from events preceding the war, the United States' participation into the war, to the signing of the Peace Treaty. Photographs include significant battles, images from the British, Balkan, Italian, and French fronts, artillery, aviation, war devastation, and the care of the injured. It also covers lesser-known issues such as Belgian and French refugees, the use of dogs in combat, army food, and recreation and welfare workers in the United States Army. All one-hundred stereoscopes are present in the slip case and are numbered accordingly. They show good condition overall with little to no wear present to the stereoscopes and no major signs of damage noted. the slip case shows wear present from its age and use over the years but no signs of major damage is noted on the slipcase. The stereoscopes measure 3 3/8" L x 7" W, with the slipcase measuring 7 1/4" L x 7 1/2" W x 3 3/4" H. It weighs 4 pounds and 10 ounces.
