This is an incredible rare and historic 10K gold locket gifted from Wyatt Earp to his wife Josephine Earp, circa 1901 to 1910 from the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp (1848-1929) was an American lawman in the American West, including Dodge City, Deadwood, and Tombstone. Earp was involved in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, during which lawmen killed three outlaw Cochise County Cowboys. Josephine Sarah "Sadie" Earp was the common-law wife of the famed Old West lawman and gambler, his life companion for 46 years until his death. The Tombstone Western Heritage Museum label states, "JOSEPHINE EARP'S LOCKET This locket, with her and Wyatt's photo inside was given to Mr. John Parks by Josephine. The Parks were good friends of the Earps." Museum code, "E-028." The locket displays a miniature photo of Wyatt on the left and a miniature photograph of Josephine on the right. The exterior of the locket is mother-of-pearl on the front. The gold-colored frame has an eyelet for hanging on a pendant, rich patina observed throughout. Scratched area on reverse. Locket sits on green velvet cloth in a Riker display case. Museum label is attached to the Riker case face. Locket is marked behind photos, "1/20, a large B with a B and a CO inside the larger B loops, 10k." Locket measures .75"W x 1.25"L, Riker case is 5.125"W x 6.125"L x .75"D, U6. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum, collection of Stephen Elliott and Marge Elliot (Steven Elliott), and collection of Mr. John Parks. E-028
