Offered in this lot is the Rare Classic, "Britten's Old Clocks and Watches and their Makers", F. J. Britten, 7th Edition, Bonanza Books of Crown Publishing, 1956. This book is a historical and descriptive account of the different styles of clocks and watches of the past, in England and abroad, containing a list of nearly 25,000 watch and clock makers. This book is a must for every pocket watch and clock lover. It is about the history of major horlogerie achievement and development steps. It describes the fundamentals of the different movments and provides valuable information. A master piece of research written in an understandable manner for all. If you are serious about watch collecting and want to know and understand the beautiful simplicity of watches and clocks, and their movements. An awesome resource for analyzing, dating and technically identifying old watches especially with the extensive watchmakers directory. This blue cloth bound gold gilt hardcover is in very nice condition overall, slight wear to cover edges exhibited. Intact pages are in very nice and clean condition, no marring observed. Original paper dust jacket is wrapped in a clear mylar covering some slight normal wear noted on edges. Measures 8.75"W x 11.25"L x 1.25"D, weight approximate 4lb, 2oz
