Featured in this lot we have a Quackenbush Safety Cartridge Single Shot Rifle chambered in .22 caliber. The rifle displays a 18" long round barrel, metal frame stock, and fixed sights. The side of the frame is marked with "H.M. QUCKENBUSH, HERKIMER, N.Y. U.S.A. PAT. IN U.S. & ENG. FEB 23'86 & BELG. MAR. 15.86.". To load this firearm the firing mechanism swings to the right and a single .22 shot can be loaded. The firing mechanism is then manually cocked. All components of this firearm are in working condition. The rifle shows good condition overall with wear due to age and use. Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona where the rifle has been on display in their collection for multiple decades, Marge and Stephen Elliott collection with many items associated with John D. Gilchriese. The rifle weighs 3lbs 10oz. Serial Number: NSN. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
