Featured in this lot is this RARE Tombstone, A.T. Crystal Palace Saloon back bar sign circa 19th century; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The sign dates to the opening of the Crystal Palace Saloon in the early 1880's, during the height of the Earp's and Cochise County Cowboy vendetta. This is a back bar sign from the famous Crystal Palace Saloon that comes complete with provenance that indicates that the back bar sign was found in Giacoma's yard who was a former owner of the Crystal Palace Saloon in the 1990 and is confirmed by Corerve in this letter of provenance in 2007. The back bar sign is highly embossed and repousse and reads as follows: Crystal Palace Liquor Co. The back bar sign comes complete with a original museum tag that reads as follows: Back Bar Sign from the Crystal Palace was dug up in the yard of the Giacoma's owners of the Saloon in the early 1900's. The condition Crystal Palace Saloon back bar sign is broken with the right side of the sign sundered and missing its piece but otherwise only shows a slight patina consistent with age. The measurements of this sign is 4 1/2" x 9". The collective weight of this back bar sign is 12oz. TT-157
