Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, A.T. collection of blank and used checks including Wells Fargo & Co. Express checks circa 1880-1900's and were displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are eight checks or bank notes in this collection. The first is a blank check from The Congress Gold Co. from the 1890's. The second check is a Safford, Hudson & Co. bankers note that is left blank from the 1880's. The next check is from the Southern Arizona Bank & Trust Company left blank. The next check is Wells Fargo & Co express bank note for a transfer of 45¢. The next check is made for recording for even balance from the Hall of Cochise Lodge No. 5. The next check is Safford, Hudson & Co. bankers note left blank. The next bank note is form the Grand Central South Mining Company left blank (this bank note seems to be the oldest of this collection). The last is a Wells Fargo & Co. Express filled for 45¢. The condition of this collection of checks is well preserved with some of the ink showing some bleeding and some browning to the checks consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of these checks ranges from 3 1/2" x 7 1/2" to 2 3/4" x 6 1/2". TTD364, TTD378, D-172, TTD373
